Spring has sprung and we are ready!!! How about you? If you are thinking about longer evenings and holiday destinations, we are right there with you. And let’s be completely honest, we are probably also thinking about all those cosmetic procedures we have seen all over social media throughout the winter months. There are so many great non-invasive options such as lasers, fillers and peels that are available and all the rage these days that will enhance our natural beauty.
Who would have thought that fillers would not only be used for aging issues such as volume loss, but they can shape and sculpt our noses as well????? We know, it’s crazy!
So, in our spring blog we wanted to share some of our personal favorites for 2022 that don’t require going under the knife and are more popular than ever with our patients.
BOTOX
Everyone has heard of Botox, right? If for some reason you haven’t, here’s the scoop. Botox continues to take the lead in non-invasive cosmetic treatments. This safe and simple injectable treatment relaxes facial muscles with a subtle yet effective result. Considering this quick, relatively painless procedure can be done during your lunch break, and make you look instantly refreshed and well-rested, it’s no wonder it’s so popular.
We have many patients who begin in their 20’s and early 30’s as a preventative treatment option that wards off those pesky wrinkles before they even start, resulting in smoother skin for many years. If you are an older patient and haven’t yet begun your Botox journey, don’t fear. It will help turn back the clock for you as well and smooth away those fine lines and wrinkles that have evolved over time.
Remember, Botox isn’t just for the ladies! Our guys love it also. It’s commonly referred to as “Brotox”.
DERMAL FILLERS
Are you ready to look your best for all those summer parties? Then you can’t go wrong with dermal fillers. As we age, we lose volume in our face which leads to a deflated, sunken, and tired look. Today’s powerful, next generation of fillers restore this lost volume.
They sculpt, lift, define and smooth the appearance of lines and wrinkles. If you want to achieve a more refined and contoured appearance or replace lost volume in the cheeks or other areas of the face, fillers provide immediate results with no down time. The biggest perk is that they will instantly revitalize your face and have your friends thinking you are looking better than ever (but if you don’t tell them they will never know why)!
LIP INJECTIONS
Some may want a full pout like Angelina Jolie’s, while others are more bothered by their asymmetrical one or thinning of their lips. Either way, lip injections are popular for transforming, not just lips, but the way faces look in general. And who doesn’t want full and more youthful lips!
So, whether you want to smooth it or plump it, fillers such as JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC temporarily add more fullness while also plumping thin lips. After a topical numbing agent is applied to the area, the filler is injected in and around the lips. Immediately after treatment you will have moderate swelling for 24-48 hours and most swelling lasts a few days. There is a risk of bruising as well so allow 2 weeks for your best result. Most lip filler patients maintain their volume with treatments every 6-12 months. It is always important to note that all lips are different, and results will vary per patient.
PDO THREADS
This 30-minute “face lift” is all the rave! Want to know why? Like a surgical facelift, thread lifts address loose, crepey skin and can reverse signs of aging to help patients look like a more revitalized version of themselves. The procedure lifts and tightens saggy skin for a more youthful and refreshed appearance. Minimal downtime is also a particularly appealing advantage to patients who cannot take time off to heal from a facelift. This non-surgical option avoids the downtime and permanency of a traditional facelift so that’s a win-win!
Thread lifts can be used to improve eyelid heaviness, lift the mid face, create a more almond shaped eye, sharpen the jawline, improve “jowling” and tighten the neck.
Thread lift results will be instantly apparent (one reason why this is often referred to as InstaLift), and results will improve 4-6 weeks after treatment as collagen is formed. There is continual improvement for 3-4 months after the procedure. So, although your body will naturally metabolize the threads after about 6 months, your result will be maintained for many months beyond that.
CHEMICAL PEELS
We are sure you have watched many people chronicle their chemical peel experiences on social media as popularity has increased.
By removing old skin, new layers can grow in its place resulting in a brighter, clearer, more youthful looking complexion. Chemical peels vary in strength, some can be performed during your lunch hour, while other stronger concentrations require a fair amount of recovery time. The stronger the peel, the more likely your skin is to look badly sunburned, blistered, and ultimately scab and peel. Chemical peels are very popular among patients that want to reduce the appearance of deep wrinkles, sun damage and acne scarring.
While chemical peels are completely safe for warmer months, it’s vital to use proper sun protection to reduce the risk of complications. Because a chemical peel removes the top layers of skin and reveals fresh, youthful skin, it can be especially sensitive and more prone to sunburn.
BBL/MOXI REJUVENATION
If you are looking for a non-invasive, minimal downtime procedure to rejuvenate your skin, we have the treatment for you! HINT: We recommend beginning with BBL Forever Young and enhancing at 2nd treatment by adding Moxi. However, Moxi can be done as a stand-alone treatment.
