PA-C/ Master Esthetician and Licensed Esthetician Instructor
Sarah has been passionate about skin care since she was young and personally struggled with acne and rosacea. She later started a career in aesthetics as a Master Esthetician in 2010. During her five years working in a dermatology setting, she performed chemical peels, dermaplaning, laser resurfacing and hair removal, IPL, and cosmetic product consultations. She also taught Master Esthetics courses at American Spirit Institute in Richmond and earned an independent certification from the National Coalition of Estheticians, Manufacturers, and Distributers (NCEA), which marks a standard of excellence in esthetics knowledge. Sarah enjoyed the hands-on aspects of esthetics and building relationships with a regular clientele, but her interest in lifelong learning and a desire to expand her scope of practice led her to pursue a career as a Physician’s Assistant. In 2015, she moved to Florida to attend Nova Southeastern University, and earned her Masters in Medical Science with honors in 2017. Her background in aesthetics gives her a unique perspective, a trained eye, and the experience to address a wide range of client concerns, from the latest anti-aging ingredients to injectables.
Sarah considers herself a Virginian at heart. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Sweet Briar College in 2005, graduating summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. She lived in Richmond for eight years prior to PA school, then returned to Richmond because of her love for the city and people in the area. Her favorite things about Richmond are its diverse restaurant offerings, festivals, James River trail system, and the VMFA. She is very active in her free time weight lifting, trail running, swimming, horseback riding, and baking.
