We utilize the power of regenerative medicine via the newest technique in hair restoration known as Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) to safely and effectively restore hair without the need for surgery or pills.
PRP is unique because it unleashes the power of your own body to encourage dormant hair follicles to grow new hair.
During your visit, a small amount of blood is drawn and platelets are separated from the blood. The PRP is then injected into hair bearing areas. It takes about 30 minutes to perform the entire procedure.
PRP therapy is a quick, in office procedure with very little downtime which can safely restore a thick and healthy head of hair.

Natural remedy for thicker, fuller, and healthier looking hair
Performed in Office & Takes Under 1 Hour
Dr. Shaw has developed his PRP protocol based on studies performed and written in plastic surgery and dermatology medical journals.
Most patients begin to notice improvements after the second procedure, though there are some patients who see more hair after only one.
After the initial sessions, patients should have repeat procedures about every 6 months to maximize their results.
Patients can expect thicker, fuller, and healthier looking hair as well as overall increased hair density.

Common Questions About PRP Hair Restoration
How Long Does it Take?
PRP Hair Restoration is a series of injections that are completed quite quickly. The procedure itself takes about 30 minutes.
How Long Does it Last?
We recommend maintenance treatments every 6-12 months after your initial treatments to ensure long lasting results.
Are There Any Alternatives?
Some surgeons use a product called ACell as an adjunct during PRP injection to purportedly enhance hair growth.
Unfortunately, there have been very few studies in the medical literature to support this claim.
ACell is derived from bladder tissue of pigs, and therefore introduces the possibility of a patient developing an allergy to the animal (pig) protein when placed into the scalp.
Given the lack of definitive study and the risk of allergy, Dr Shaw does not currently use ACell in combination with PRP injection.
Is it Painful?
What is Recovery Like? Is There Downtime or Medication?
You may immediately resume a normal diet and activity level. However, we recommend refraining from styling products which can irritate the scalp for 36 hours post procedure, and avoid coloring for 2-3 weeks.
If you are using a topical medication such as Rogaine, this may be resumed the following week. Patients can wash their hair the next day.
Ice may be placed on the injected areas for 24 hours after as needed for comfort or mild swelling.
