In-Office Treatments for An Instant Glow for All Those Holiday Parties

During the frenzy of a busy social season, yearning for satisfaction can quickly shift from impatient to frantic, in hopes of looking our best for every in-person appearance. And honestly, why shouldn’t we be able to walk out of a provider’s office and see instant benefits? Of course, we can’t expect total transformations from one appointment without significant recovery time, but there are a handful of procedures that can deliver right-now radiance. Even better, they require practically no downtime—making it a genuine possibility to hit up your cosmetic office in the AM, then show up looking stunning at an evening soirée.

So, we’re breaking down some in-office treatments to try for a nearly instant glow:

Botox

Ever heard of the “Botox glow”? Neuromodulators (including Dysport) can be used in different ways to help amp up your skin’s radiance, often delivering results within 24 to 48 hours of treatment, if not sooner, with full results kicking in at about 2 weeks. Neuromodulators are injected into the skin overlying the muscle, to help the muscle relax, resulting in a weaker line or wrinkle. A weaker line or wrinkle will give you an overall smoother, more awake, and more refreshed look. Think about it—a wrinkled piece of satin fabric is pretty lackluster, but one that’s been ironed seems to glow from within, not unlike a freshly ’toxed forehead.

The results of your Botox injections will last three months, give or take. While downtime is uncommon, it’s usually due to swelling or bruising at the injection site, both of which are often minor and fade within a day. To minimize your risk of both, avoid drinking alcohol the night before and after your treatment.

Dermal fillers

Consider a traditional balloon: When it’s fully deflated, it looks dull and saggy. But when inflated, it looks taut, with almost luminous shine. When injected strategically by a qualified provider like our NP Whitney or Dr. Shaw, dermal fillers such as Juvéderm and Restylane can do the same, especially in the lips, cheek contours, and under the eyes. By creating contours and providing dimensions in key areas of the face that have hollowed due to volume losses, we can fill and restore, lift, and allow positioning for optimal light reflection.

Chemical peels

If you’re already a power user of at-home chemical peels, you know how this treatment works. But, let our exfoliating authority refresh your memory: Typically, dead skin cells are naturally shed every 28 days. However, this process slows down as you age. Peels work on multiple levels of the skin, to safely remove the top layer of dead, dull skin cells, revealing the new, radiant skin underneath. It is not uncommon for patients to come in for a peel on their lunch break and head back to their office. It’s also gentle enough to get once a month.

Of course, you should work to keep your glow going at home with a regimen of ZO Skin Health medical products that we can recommend.

Remember, the key to healthy, youthful skin is cleansing, exfoliating, and toning followed by anti-aging products. And always make sure you’re protecting your fresh new skin from damage with sunscreen.

Vivace RF (Radiofrequency) Microneedling

While you might think that repeatedly stamping dozens of gilded needles into your face would cause significant trauma that necessitates days of downtime, that’s not the case with this beloved treatment. Though Vivace’s tiny needles are indeed inducing micro injuries, the additional radiofrequency and LED work in tandem to induce tissue tightening and healing for nearly instantaneous recovery, so it can be performed the morning of a major event.

Like any microneedling treatment, Vivace leaves microchannels in the skin. Take advantage of this by using quality skin care post-treatment, which will maximize your glow. While the channels are open, a serum can be infused into the skin—a leave-on silicone sheet mask to follow ensures that the dermis is plump and dewy.

Expect to see smaller pores, smoother fine lines and wrinkles, and improvements to texture and tone as well as an instant plump and dewy glow that will last for at least two days. While visible in one treatment, the compounded benefits from a series are outstanding. If your skin tends to be especially sensitive, let us know before treatment. We may leave your sheet mask on longer or expose you to further red LEDs for accelerated recovery.

HydraFacial

HydraFacial’s rely on the use of natural, nutrient-rich super serums to clean, hydrate, and protect skin. Following your treatment, you will notice an immediate result in the form of radiant, glowing skin. This typically lasts between 5-7 days or even longer in some cases. HydraFacial’s offer immediate results and require no downtime. After your session, you are free to return to your normal routine without fear of irritation or redness. In addition, putting on makeup will not tarnish your results. A definite win, win!!

Our Master Aesthetician will recommend the perfect HydraFacial to enhance your skin texture. We will wash the face to remove all surface-level bacteria. Then, we will apply a serum cleansing your skin through gentle exfoliation. During the exfoliation process, debris and bacteria are cleared from the pores. Finally, we will clean the serum off, leaving a layer of antioxidant-rich protection on the skin. The entire procedure will take approximately 40-50 minutes.

Clogged pores, acne scarring, wrinkles, and uneven pigmentation are just some skin problems a HydraFacial can help resolve. When it comes to the smoothness and texture of your skin, a simple HydraFacial can provide fast and beautiful results with no downtime.

Best of all, HydraFacials are designed to deliver cleansing, hydration, and moisture to all skin types.

Also, adding a Dermaplane onto this treatment will greatly enhance your glow. It is kind of like shaving your face—only it’s performed in a doctor’s office and takes care of way more than peach fuzz (which, for the record, it also does). Sounds kind of weird, but it’s exploded in popularity thanks to the fact that it gets rid of facial hair, can make your face feel baby soft, and helps give you a smooth base for foundation. It’s like a turbo-charged exfoliator and a great addition for anyone who already exfoliates regularly.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a rejuvenation treatment that offers fast, effective results and clear, clean, healthy skin. It renews skin tone and texture. The beauty of this treatment is its impressive versatility. Microdermabrasion has been shown to be effective in reducing signs of sun damage, wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, acne scarring, melasma, and other skin-related concerns. This treatment uses a mild abrasion followed by vacuum suction to remove dead skin cells. Sessions typically last between 15-30 minutes. During this time, some mild discomfort may be experienced as the device gently sands away the thick outer layer of your skin. After sanding away the dead skin cells, they are cleaned up using a vacuum system. The result of this process is the emergence of new, softer surface skin. This option is an excellent choice for treating uneven pigmentation, as it only affects the uppermost layer of your skin.

You may experience some tenderness following your microdermabrasion treatment. Despite this, the procedure does not require any downtime and you may return to your normal activities immediately after your visit. Immediate skin rejuvenation can be experienced!
